Pet Endoscopy & Rhinoscopy

An endoscopy is a less-invasive method of examining your pet’s digestive (GI) tract. The procedure involves the insertion of a flexible tube affixed with a camera, either through the mouth or colon. A Rhinoscopy involves the insertion of a very thin endoscope into the nasal cavity. Prior to an endoscopy for dogs or cats, your pet will need to fast and may need medication to empty the GI tract of all food and fecal matter. During either procedure, your pet will be under anesthesia. This is usually short-acting and, in most cases, our patients are able to go home the same day as the procedure.

Veterinary Radiology

Radiography, or x-rays, are incredibly useful in our veterinary practice, as they allow our doctors to examine your pet’s internal organs and skeletal structures in a non-invasive manner.

At Quakertown Veterinary Clinic, we conduct X-rays in a variety of situations, including:

This list is not exhaustive; our veterinarians may order x-rays to test for and/or diagnose a wide range of issues, diseases, and conditions. This is one of our most common and effective imaging services. Radiology specialists are available to us 24/7/365.

Ultrasonography

At Quakertown Veterinary Clinic, we also offer ultrasonography, or ultrasounds, for cats, dogs, horses and other pets. Though commonly associated with pregnancy, ultrasounds can be used to create images of the inside of a patient’s body in order to detect swallowed foreign objects, locate tumors, diagnose diseases, and identify abnormalities. Ultrasounds can also be used to diagnose certain heart diseases and conduct various emergency testing.
